interpreted file virus

The virus attaches itself parasitically to an interpreted executable file. An interpreted executable file is one composed almost exclusively of instructions that must be interpreted by some other program and not directly by the CPU. They should not be confused with data files that may contain some embedded executable content in the form of scripts or macros. These types of viruses are also commonly referred to as file infector viruses.
