syntax error

An error made by an author when creating a script, for example, not enclosing a string in quotes or specifying the wrong number of parameters. Syntax errors are detected during the compilation of a script and are written to a file with the same source file name and the extension .err. You can use the pcAnywhere Editor to view the .err file, make corrections to the script, and attempt compilation again.
